One thing that I also became aware of is that when it’s lunchtime or dinner time, I eat. Often times, I’m not even hungry but I eat anyway, because it’s time to eat. Another reason people sometimes eat when they’re not hungry is to make someone else feel good. Sounds strange, but it happens a lot. Or eaten when you’re not hungry because you know the cook will experience feelings of rejection if you don’t? Do you understand what that means? Lifting weights twice a week is hardly slaving away in the gym. That’s something anyone can do to look 15-20 years younger. I know it’s not quite as intriguing as the “fountain of youth in a jar,” and may take a little more time but it really works.

And for another interesting exercise fact, exercise can even overcome bad genes! In a study of sixteen thousand sets of healthy twins, researchers kept track of the twins’ lifestyles for almost twenty years. At the end of the study, they discovered that those who exercised moderately at thirty minutes of walking twice a week cut their risk of dying almost in half when compared to their sedentary sibling.

This brings us to the third and final reason. It is reducing free radicals to avoid damage. Although most experts disagree about exactly what causes our bodies to become damaged and age quicker than others, one of the leading theories attributes it to damage caused by free radicals. These dangerous molecules that are missing an electron, bind with healthy cells in our body and wreak havoc on those cells’ ability to function.
