Prescription HCG Diet And Tips On Proteins

September 14th, 2010

One of the most popular diets on the market today is the Prescription HCG Diet, which is thought to be a leader in its industry. The Prescription HCG Diet is also known as a VLCD or very low calorie diet, limiting caloric intake and paying attention to specific food and drink. It is thought that when participating in the Prescription HCG Diet, the dieter does not often realize the limits he/she is placing on him/herself.

The dieter is limited to 500 calories per day with the Prescription HCG Diet, and there are guidelines to help know what foods are approved. The individual in the Prescription HCG Diet will be able to follow the list of foods and measure intake appropriately.

In the well-balanced diet, the dieter can eat colorful veggies and proteins that total 500 calories. The VLCD encourages the dieter to follow the instructions closely in order to maximize weight loss in a way that is healthy. It is necessary to consume protein because it works inside the body to help the dieter feel full. When using the Prescription HCG plan, the dieting individual needs to pay attention to the quantity of protein.

One of the important aspects to the Prescription HCG weight loss plan is the formula, which can be consumed in two different ways. The formula can be taken through injection or orally. The injection will occur once a day, while the oral method must be taken between 1 and 3 times per day. Many people on the diet prefer to do the injection rather than have to remember to take the oral drops more than once a day.

The body of the dieter will work with the diet formula to help him/her follow and stay with the VLCD. Please note, the formula is as important as counting calories as is paying attention to what foods go into the body. There are online tools and resources provided on the Prescription HCG site that the dieter should use to maximize results. There is an eCookbook online that includes many different recipes tailored to the diet. It also provides a way to communicate with other participants in the program.

When online, the dieter will be able to see the suggested or recommended proteins. One key suggestion from Dr. Simeons program experts is to vary the type of protein being eaten throughout the day and throughout the diet program. It is not thought to be a smart choice to eat the same protein everyday at every serving.

Another tip for suggested proteins is for the dieter to pay attention to the cut of meat or protein he/she is eating. Some cuts of meat are full of fat and are not complementary to the Prescription HCG weight loss program. By paying attention to these details when eating protein, the dieter is believed to have a greater chance of succeeding.

Some dieters could feel restricted by only being allowed to ingest 500 calories a day. But, by eating the appropriate and recommended foods, creating fun and delicious menus, and taking the appropriate dosage of the formula, then he/she should not feel overwhelmed or limited. The Prescription HCG weight loss program is believed to be an easy way to shed pounds and keep them off.

Slimquick Hoodia Diet Unveiled

July 20th, 2010

Hoodia gordonii, a succulent plant, is found in Angola, Namibia, Botswana and South Africa. The San Bushmen who roam around their habitats in the Kalahari Desert have many uses for the plant. One of its uses was as an appetite suppressant. The San people found it useful while hunting in the desert for days together. Though this was known to the outside world for some time, it was only in 1997 that South African Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) began to investigate and patented its extract which they named as P57. The rights to exclusive use of P57 were sold to a British drug company called Phytopharm. Phytopharm licensed the production rights to Pfizer. Hoodia became internationally much sought after only after BBC presented a report on Hoodia in 2003 followed by 60 Minutes in 2004.

Hoodia became a favorite weight loss product in the global market. But the fact that this knowledge was owned by San Bushmen was simply not remembered or acknowledged. The media then raked up this issue accusing Phytopharm of biopiracy. Confronted with this, Phytopharm lamely defended itself saying that the San people no longer existed when tens of thousands of them actually inhabited the southern African countries covering the Kalahari Desert. CSIR then admitted in 2003 that the San people were the source of this knowledge and that a portion of the royalty would indeed be shared with them. It is estimated that 0.003 percent of the retail sales were to be their share. This was a pittance though the point was well taken. Meanwhile, Pfizer returned Phytopharm the production rights who later transferred the rights to Unilever. Unilever were into production of diet foods such as Slim Fast. The company announced its intention to produce functional foods with Hoodia as the main ingredient.

A number of companies too launched Hoodia products in the wake of its popularity. They claimed that their products contained genuine Hoodia sourced from Africa. These products were introduced in the market in such brand names as Hoodia Pure, Dex-L10 Hoodia, HoodiThin Liquid, Hoodia Extract, H57 Hoodia, Tru Hoodia Diet, Hoodia Shake, Hoodia Gordonii Shake Mix, Hoodia SlimQuick, Hoodoba, Hoodia Supreme and Desert Burn. Hoodia though the main ingredient were combined with a few other useful items in most of these products. For instance, calcium, Green Tea and Vitamin D3 along with Hoodia of Slimquick Hoodia is targeted to women as a weight loss diet.

Phytopharm subsequently applied and was granted two more patents related to treatment of gastric disorders. Applications for patent for some more uses have been subsequently filed. These are related to its potential use in disorders related to disorders in the functioning of the saliva, prostrate and sweat glands besides sexual dysfunction.

Health is very important. So, everybody should take care of their health.

Overeating Due to Emotions?

April 17th, 2010

Industry experts accept that there is a link between emotions and overeating. But defining the exact relationship between the two phenomena isn’t quite as easy as anyone would like. Overeating patterns and the exact cause and effect of overeating/emotions creates a definite cycle that is increasing the spread of obesity at never before seen rates. Factors have to be considered at an individual level, but they also have to be considered as applicable to family units as well as social groups. This makes coming up with a solid definition even more difficult.

The basic relationship between emotions and overeating is often defined in broad terms by the phrase comfort food. It makes sense…someone experiencing negative or unpleasant emotions reaches for foods that will be pleasing. The emotions inspiring this type of eating vary greatly, but are often fear, anger, depression or anxiety related. Temporary overeating as well as chronic overeating can provide a feeling of relief (temporarily) from emotional pain.

Other positive feelings are often obtained by the individual succumbing to overeating in response to negative emotions. Food preparation, discussion or even just the act of eating are often a distraction from the negative feelings and thoughts. Overeating is often seen as a reward providing the individual with a feeling of gratification. It can also provide feelings of comfort (thus the term “comfort foods”) and a sense of being loved.

Overeaters (those who suspect themselves of the problem or who have been repeatedly accused of the problem by loved ones or medical professionals) should take the first step to stopping their personal cycle. The first step is knowing it’s there and defining it. It seems easy. But it can be difficult. Identify the characteristics of your overeating cycle by keeping an eating diary. It will document what you’re eating. When you’re eating. And why you’re eating. Always note if you were hungry when you were eating, as well.

If you aren’t eating when you’re hungry the big question becomes…why are you eating? Is it because of an individual? Is it because of a place? Is it because of the time? Is it because of a certain situation? Define your eating/overeating cycle and you’ll be able to control it to better your own health. Stopping the cycle before it results in obesity is very important since obesity drastically increases the risks for many common illnesses and diseases.

Once the negative habits have been identified and recognized it is much easier for an individual to gain control of their weight. And the recent availability of naturopathic weight loss methods like homeopathic HCG provide the means for drastic weight loss if the problem has already escalated to an unhealthy point.
